What data is collected?
When you create an account, we store: your username, your password (hashed, never stored in plain text), and the account creation date. Each profile linked to your account stores the anime you add, their status (watched / watching / to-watch), your ratings, your favorites and the comments you write. Anime entries also contain public metadata retrieved via AniList (title, image, synopsis, genres, number of episodes, duration) — this isn't personal data, but information about the anime themselves.
Where is this data stored?
All data is stored locally, in simple text files (JSON), on the server hosting the site. No external database or third-party cloud service is used to store your information.
Is this data shared?
No. No personal data is sold, rented or transmitted to third parties. The only communication with an external service is with the public AniList API (anilist.co), and is limited to anime titles or IDs — never your username, password or any other data about you. This communication happens in four cases: when you search for an anime to add, when the site suggests anime based on your favorite genres, when it automatically retrieves the duration of an anime already in your catalog, and when you choose a character avatar on the profile selection screen.
Visibility of your catalog
Anime you mark as "watched" or "favorite", your ratings, and the comments you write (or that other profiles write on your entry) are visible to other profiles on the site via the "Discover" page. Your password, on the other hand, is never visible to anyone, including the site's publisher. From another profile's public page, you can also add one of their anime to your own catalog: only the anime's public information (title, image, genres…) is copied to your entry, never data belonging to the other profile (their ratings, status, comments).
How long is this data kept?
As long as your account exists. You can delete a profile (and its associated catalog) at any time from the profile selection screen.
Your rights
In accordance with GDPR, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting the site's publisher (see legal notice).
